Hebei Provincial Price Bureau and Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission recently jointly issued the Circular on Decentralization and Liberalization of Price Management Authority of Some Medical Services and Related Policy Issues, proposing to liberalize the price of 54 individualized medical services such as orthodontics and medical cosmetology in public hospitals and implement market-adjusted prices.

Nowadays, people's requirement for 'face' cosmetology is much higher than before, especially for orthodontics. The liberalization of 54 individualized medical service items such as orthodontics and medical cosmetology in public hospitals and the implementation of market-adjusted prices will be conducive to promoting market competition.

In addition, the notification also stipulates that the price of medical services in county-level public hospitals should be formulated and adjusted in principle within the range of less than 10% of the price of medical services in city-level public hospitals (in county-level public hospitals with zero-margin drug sales, the price adjustment of medical services is not limited by the above range). Prices of medical services in primary medical and health institutions are formulated and adjusted in principle within the range of 20% lower than those in County-level Public hospitals.
